Cataloguing, Researching, and Conveying Women’s Musical-Cultural Initiatives (1800 to 2000)

International and interdisciplinary conference, 4th to 6th of April 2019

The conference will be part of the interdisciplinary project entitled: “Cataloguing, Researching, and Conveying. Identity and Networks / Mobility and Cultural Transfer in the Music-Related Activities of Women between 1800 and 2000”. The conference focuses on music-cultural actions taking place during the 19th and 20th centuries. A special feature of the above project, as well as the conference, is the combination of philological and library development approaches and content with cultural discourses and music-related gender research. The conference will focus on three topics: the in-depth cataloguing of historical source material, the academic evaluation of the material, and the conveying of such material in the form of a digital edition in order to contextualize information and impart music-related knowledge within the broad topic of music-related Digital Humanities.

Conference languages and languages of the abstracts are German and English.

Conference heads: Dr. Nicole K. Strohmann and Prof. Dr. Susanne Rode-Breymann
